About NSAW
National Sleep Awareness Week® (NSAW), which takes place March 3-9, 2008, is a public education, information, and awareness campaign that coincides with the return of Daylight Saving Time, the annual "springing forward" of clocks that can cause Americans to lose an hour of sleep. NSAW kicks off with the Great American Sleep Challenge, an online campaign to help Americans get the most out of their sleep and to teach them about how sleep impacts health, safety, productivity, mood, and relationships. Additional NSAW events include NSF's 8th Annual Awards Dinner: A Celebration of Sleep Leadership, the release of the results of the 11th annual Sleep in America poll, which will focus upon sleep, performance and the workplace, The Role of Sleep in Memory and Learning Conference, and NSF's Advocacy Training and Capitol Hill Day.
